On a cold winter morning, Emma goes back to her childhood memories and finds a picture of Olivine Malette, her great-great grandmother. Olivine, born in 1878, is a Native woman who was adopted and raised by a French-Canadian family in Hull. The themes of adoption, assimilation of natives in residential schools, the role of Catholic religion, silence and the shame of ethnic mix are discussed in this short documentary.
